NEED YOUR HELP! Our available funds for veterinary care have dwindled. We desperately need your help to continue our mission of providing lifesaving care for the mama dogs and puppies that we rescue. Fifi’s story is one that will break your heart! An 8 years old pregnant boxer was brought to the vet to be euthanized at the owner’s request. The vet would not comply and convinced the owner to surrender her. One of our volunteers stepped in and the renamed, “Fifi” became a Geauga Mama Dog!

Her pregnancy was confirmed at 9-10 pups, but all did not go well! After a long wait and hours of unproductive labor there were no contractions, no puppy movement and weak heartbeats. An emergency cesarean section was performed to save Fifi and the puppies. Fifi’s foster mom had to provide vigilant care on several fronts. From stomach and eye infections to birth defects, Fifi was too old to be having puppies only a year after her last litter. Her foster mom spent over three weeks sleeping next to them to prevent clumsy 80 pound Fifi from smothering them!

“It has been a marathon keeping them alive, but all is well now. Fifi is blossoming and her 8 beautiful puppies are thriving.” Our fosters do such amazing work as volunteers, but we need your help to pay the vet bills. Can you chip in to help us continue saving dogs like Fifi and her puppies?
