Blackberry was a pregnant stray, dropped off at a crowded Kentucky shelter, starved and exhausted. With her ribs showing, she gave everything she had to keep her five newborn pups alive. But overcrowding meant they were scheduled to be euthanized—six lives about to be lost.
Then, #GMDAP stepped in. Thanks to our incredible partner rescue and transport team, Blackberry and her babies were saved just one day before it was too late. In foster care, she regained her strength, eating high-protein meals and receiving the love she deserved. Today, Blackberry has a wonderful forever family, with two dog sisters and even cat siblings. All five of her pups were adopted into loving homes too.
Six lives, once destined for death, were saved because of Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups. But there are more dogs like Blackberry who need help.
