Found living under a rock cliff in rural West Virginia, Olivia gave birth to eight tiny puppies on one of the coldest, snowiest days in January. ❄️ For nearly four long weeks, she shielded her babies from the freezing wind, scavenging what little she could to keep them alive.
When rescuers finally reached her, this brave mama had done the impossible — all eight puppies were still alive. 💗
After a six-hour journey to Geauga Mama Dogs and Pups, Olivia’s battle wasn’t over. She was malnourished, exhausted, and later diagnosed with Lyme disease. But love, care, and compassion changed everything.
In her foster home, Olivia began to heal — her eyes grew brighter, her tail started to wag, and her babies received the critical medical care they desperately needed. Every puppy recovered from their dangerously high worm loads and were soon adopted into loving homes. And Olivia? She found her happily-ever-after, too — adopted by a family friend of her foster mom, where she’s cherished as the gentle soul she always was. Mama Olivia is now known on #HopeLivesHere as Lilly. 🏠💕
Stories like Olivia’s are what #GeaugaMamaDogsAndPups is all about — rescuing the forgotten, healing the broken, and giving hope where there once was none.
